The theme for today is "a selfportrait in your favorite place".
I did a lot of testshots around town, but decided to go with my heart.
This is what I call an honest photo. First of all this is very personal - and my favorite place in the city is my kitchen!
It's not all done yet, I didn't tidy up to take the photo. I'm not wearing any makeup or styled my hair. But this is me. Having my coffee in the kitchen and looking, well... normal I guess.
But just to be on the safe side - I did another selfportrait in a pretty place.
I like pictures like this though when it's not staged in any way.
Maybe it's a danish thing? We do like those Dogme-films... where the rules amongst others are: The camera is handheld, you don't use any props that aren't on location, you don't add any lights or filters and the story takes place here and now.
I can really recommend Festen (Celebration), Italiensk for begyndere (Italian for beginners) and Idioterne (The Idiots).

OK, I'll be honest, I prefer the other one - the "staged one". Probably a french thing ;) we are more attentive to the "glossy result" than into the plain nature of things...
Having said that, Festen is one of my favorite films though.
I like your straightforwardness and thoughts behind the choice! bravo!
You look perfect Kathrine, if i was the photographer i would use that lovely orange lamp to fit on your head:), just one meter to the right and you could be a princess on a strange country!

We show ourselves to others in many different ways. I like both pics because the photos show you as a complex human!

I like this picture more than the "styled" one, it's great you're not scared to be without makeup and great hair style, but reveal your true self to us - thank you for the trust and congratulations to this great picture!
Each to thier own but I have to disagree with Eric...I LOVE the 'natural' look and the picture in the kitchen is certainly that...beautiful.

Both portraits are super. But in your kitchen you seems a bit sad, or tired...
Hope i'm wrong, maybe just 10 hours choosing between both shots, with no success :))))
